Acumen Partners with AlphaSights to Better Access Global Expertise

In our work investing in social enterprises that deliver critical goods to the poor, there is a substantial amount of work to evaluate each investment opportunity. A critical part of the diligence process, particularly when it comes to emerging markets, is speaking with industry experts who can provide reliable information about sector trends, market dynamics and public policy – all of which affect our evaluation of potential investment opportunities.

To support this work, Acumen has partnered with AlphaSights, an industry leader in connecting those seeking information with relevant experts across the globe. Acumen will leverage AlphaSights’ core competencies in its pre-investment process to connect with former executives, world-renowned scientists, leading academics and other relevant experts in unfamiliar markets to help us better analyze potential investments in the most promising social innovations across the globe. We’re delighted to be working with AlphaSights in this capacity as their support directly enhances our ability to better understand, assess and build game-changing companies that are tackling some of the world’s most intractable issues of poverty.

A Cleaner Path: Solar Energy’s Impact on Health

Imagine for a moment that the light used in your home was a poison. One that could damage your lungs, irritate your eyes, even impact the health of your unborn child. What Women Can Do

In these uncertain times, when progress towards a more just world sometimes seems to be slowing, or even reversing its course, I often ask myself the question, what can I do? It’s easy to feel small or isolated in the face of so many challenges, many of which seem to have escalated over the past few months. [Read More]
