Shopify, an eCommerce company that allows individuals to create online stores, announced today that it is making a $100,000 donation to Acumen Fund in honor of its 16,000 customers that have built online businesses with Shopify’s eCommerce platform over the past five years.
With this donation, Shopify hopes to fuel the same level of success for the pioneering entrepreneurs who are working with Acumen Fund to build businesses that can change the way the world tackles poverty.

Both Shopify and Acumen Fund share a commitment to fostering entrepreneurship. Shopify’s track record is truly inspiring – with tens of millions of transactions conducted on its eCommerce platform by an international community of Shopify-powered stores and shoppers.
We are excited to welcome Shopify to our vibrant community of Partners, who believe in building game-changing enterprises that can effectively and sustainably provide critical goods and services to low-income communities.
Shopify also recently launched a Build-A-Business Contest to inspire entrepreneurs to start an online business – so if you’re a budding entrepreneur yourself, be sure to check it out!
