Inspiration from a LONDON+acumen chapter event
On September 27, 2012 LONDON+acumen held a VIP Preview Photo Exhibition at The Collection, London, U.K.. It was inspiring to see chapter volunteers come together to make the event a success despite having demanding day jobs and other commitments. The guests, from all walks of life, and patrons mingled to provide an insightful glimpse into the world of Acumen Fund, the amazing network of volunteers, and the upcoming DIGNITY Photo Auction event. Throughout the night, we all learned that no matter how small the gesture, by sharing our stories, expertise and skills, we can contribute to creating a world beyond poverty.
We have had an overwhelming response from people who have expressed a desire to volunteer with the London chapter. With the success of LONDON+acumen’s VIP event, we are creating an inner circle of exceptional contacts who have invaluable experience to contribute to Acumen Fund’s values from sharing the principles of patient capital to putting these principles into practice in our community.
With the actual DIGNITY Photo Exhibition quickly approaching (save the date: 22nd November 2012), our chapter realizes the momentous task at hand, but with the dedicated LONDON+acumen team, we look forward to the opportunity to continue the journey together and to challenge ourselves on what dignity means to us as individuals.
