New course on Acumen Fund at University of Michigan
In a new class this fall, the University of Michigan will be launching a curriculum co-developed with Acumen Fund on leading innovation through social entrepreneurship. Acumen is thrilled to be working with Moses Lee, Nicholas Tobier, and the Center for Entrepreneurship at UM on the course syllabus.
Our dream for the class is to see students inspired towards creating sustainable and meaningful change, both in their own communities and overseas. Students taking the course will learn:
- A framework for understanding social entrepreneurship through Acumen’s model and case studies
- How and where design thinking factors in
- Tools for developing their own unique leadership styles, using modules adapted from our Fellows curriculum
Students will complete a leadership project on campus, be placed on interdisciplinary teams, and blog actively as part of the class.
We’re looking forward to the pilot launch in September and will share updates on the course throughout this fall.
