ACUMEN ENTREPRENEURS ARE RISING TO THE CHALLENGE OF CLIMATE CHANGE
SAFEGUARDING FARMER LIVELIHOODS
Smallholder farmers feed the world but disproportionately live in poverty. As the impacts of climate change further threaten farmers’ livelihoods, our investments work to improve productivity, raise incomes, and build climate resilience, enabling farmers to create a safe and prosperous future.
Investment Case Studies
Kheyti
In India, smallholder farmers suffer the consequences of drought and climate change, reducing their already limited incomes. Founded by two Acumen Fellows, Kheyti offers affordable greenhouses and financing solutions to help these farmers adapt to climate change.
Siembra Viva
In Colombia, the combination of climate change, inefficient supply chains, and lack of market access threaten smallholder farmers’ livelihoods. Siembra Viva is helping farmers stabilize and grow their incomes by increasing climate resilience and providing direct to market access.
