Mr. Kweku Bedu-Addo is Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana and has over twenty years of experience in the areas of public policy, international development and Banking & Finance. In his early years, Mr. Bedu-Addo worked in the Policy Analysis Division of Ghana’s Ministry of Finance, and had a brief stint with The World Bank in Washington D.C in the Eastern Africa Department under The World Bank-Japan Joint Fellowship Program. He joined the private sector in 1998 as a Financial Analyst at General Leasing & Finance Company Ltd. and later joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2000. Mr. Bedu-Addo’s career at Standard Chartered Bank has spanned several roles including, Director and Head of Corporate & Institutional Banking, Zambia; Director at the Wholesale Bank Head Office in Singapore; and Managing Director in the Origination & Client Coverage Group of the Wholesale Bank with responsibility for West Africa. In 2007, he was awarded a prestigious Wholesale Bank Star Award. He served on the Board of Standard Chartered Bank Zambia plc from 2005 to 2007. He has been on the Board of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Ltd. since 2009 to date. He is a member of the Board of Advisers of AISEC Ghana. In June 2010, he was named as Chief Executive of Standard Chartered Bank, Ghana, a 1000 Employee strong institution and one of the Standard Chartered Bank Group’s biggest businesses in Africa. He is a product of University of Ghana, Legon (1990) and Columbia University (1996).
