Sarah Bieber

Sarah leads partner relations for Acumen’s pioneering energy work. As a leading voice in the off-grid energy sector, Sarah cultivates partnerships with donors, corporations, and other investors to advance Acumen’s energy initiatives. Sarah previously led the Scaling Off-Grid Energy Grand Challenge at USAID/Power Africa (2016-18) and was elected to the board of the Global Off-Grid Lighting Association (GOGLA) based on her experience investing in pioneering enterprises serving low-income communities in developing markets.

Prior to joining Acumen in 2018, Sarah spent seven years as a foreign service officer for the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Bangkok and Washington, DC. Her career has focused on advancing clean energy to address climate change. Sarah holds a BS in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology from Tulane University and a Masters of International Affairs in Energy & Environment from Columbia University School of International & Public Affairs.
