Julia Mensink

As Head of Impact, Julia oversees impact strategy, measurement, and management at Acumen. She leads the impact team, within the Insights & Strategy team, with the aim to use all impact measurements for action. She has over 15 years of experience in impact investing, international development, and academia – focusing on social impact and economic development.
Prior to joining Acumen in 2021, she worked for a global private impact-first investor and an African agribusiness investor, for a global NGO delivering improvements in health, education, and livelihoods, and in academia in the UK and Netherlands.
Julia has lived in Europe, the USA, Latin America, and Africa and speaks five languages. She played tennis, squash, and basketball at national level and holds a Ph.D. in poverty measures from the London School of Economics.
