Joel Sam

As Associate Director of the Hardest-to-Reach energy access initiative, Joel’s role includes the build-out of strategy, pipeline assessment, transaction support, external communications and fundraising support. His previous role was as Head of Impact Research at Africa GreenCo, a development-focused energy trading start-up based in Zambia, where he assessed the external economic impacts of various innovations in the African power sector.  Joel began his career at KPMG in London, within the corporate restructuring graduate program and holds a bachelor’s degree in politics and economics from the University of Cambridge and a MSc. from the London School of Economics.
