Joel Sam

As Associate Director of the Hardest-to-Reach energy access initiative, Joel heads up Insights and reporting and supports the build-out of strategy, fundraising, operations, and external communications. His previous role was as Head of Impact Research at Africa GreenCo, a development-focused energy trading start-up based in Zambia, where he assessed the external economic impacts of various innovations in the African power sector. Joel began his career at KPMG in London, within the corporate restructuring graduate program, and holds a bachelor’s degree in politics and economics from the University of Cambridge and a MSc from the London School of Economics.
