Mwalya Wambua

Mwalya’s role entails supporting Acumen’s programmatic initiatives in East and West Africa by managing and coordinating all programs – related data collection, data validation and data processes. He develops and reviews data collection templates, metrics, systems and trackers to ensure seamless and consistent data collection, documentation and management.

Mwalya started his career at Kenya Climate Innovation Center as a junior data analyst. His roles included helping the data analyst design and code the questionnaires on online platforms, data collection, cleaning, management and analysis with Excel, SPSS and Stata. Additionally, he helped with designing and reviewing data collection and reporting templates for different projects. Previously, he was handling project operations and administration for the Sustainable Urban Economic Programme (SUED) at KCIC Consulting Limited. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and statistics from Kenyatta University and is working towards completing CPA qualification. Mwalya is a Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) alumnus under business and entrepreneurship track. He appreciated the design thinking process, team dynamics, cultural diversity and inclusivity through YALI.
