In Latin America, women are disproportionately affected by poverty due to ingrained discrimination. ALIVE is a $71 million impact fund tackling economic inequality in Latin America with a strong focus on gender equity. Operating predominantly in Colombia and Peru, ALIVE invests in early-stage, high-growth companies that leverage technology and innovation to provide critical goods and services to vulnerable people, nearly two-thirds of whom are women.

These companies have high market potential and a profitable business model but require capital for their growth. ALIVE bridges this gap by providing investment capital or “mezzanine” funding to meet their specific needs, focusing on companies that create quality jobs, boost incomes, and provide access to essential services such as clean energy, connectivity, and healthcare to vulnerable populations.

ALIVE also fosters solutions that mitigate the effects of climate change and equip communities to adapt and recover from climate-related challenges. ALIVE applies a gender lens across its investment processes; from sourcing and screening through diligence and deal execution.
