Ruth Wairimu

Ruth is the Manager responsible for the Acumen East Africa Education Facility wand oversees the investment and portfolio management for the diverse education portfolio. She is responsible for the end-to-end investment process including deal origination, screening, deal structuring, investment underwriting, closing documentation, and post-close portfolio management. Ruth actively works with the early-stage founders/entrepreneurs in her portfolio delivering Acumen’s decades of experience to ensure the companies achieve their mission and budgeted goals.

Before Acumen, Ruth worked with Optimizer Foundation closing Pre-Seed and Seed investments in Edtech and Healthtech primarily in East Africa. Before that, she was at Energy Access Ventures (now E3 Capital), focusing on investments in decentralized renewable energy assets across Africa. Ruth began her career in Corporate and Investment Banking at Standard Bank Group.
