The Challenge

The poverty rate among Hispanics is more than 22 percent, as compared to 11 percent for white Americans and 15% for all Americans. Nearly half (47 percent) of Hispanics are underbanked, and more than 80 percent make less than $50,000 per year. As a result, low-income Hispanics in the U.S. face challenges accessing financial products and rely on pay-day lenders with interest rates as high as 400 percent.
