Nate Laurell Joins Acumen’s Board of Directors

We are pleased to announce Nate Laurell as the newest addition to Acumen’s Board. Nate is Founder and Managing Partner of NewFrontier Holdings, an investment firm focused on sustainable energy and agriculture, and CEO of Here Holdings, an indoor farm and food company, leading America’s local food movement and helping Chicago to quickly become the country’s urban farming capital.

Nate has been a longtime supporter of Acumen, becoming a Partner in 2008, member of the Acumen Advisory Council in 2013 and later joining our Social Impact Advisory Committee, headed by Acumen’s Chief Innovation Officer Sasha Dichter. Nate has been a hugely valuable member of our community, sharing his expertise as a successful entrepreneur who has built multiple businesses across the financial services, renewable energy and agriculture sectors.

Nate has been an entrepreneur since starting his first company in college. He founded ampCNG, a renewable energy company, where he serves as Executive Chairmen, co-founded energy.me, and was a principal and director of Infinium Capital Management, a proprietary-trading firm with offices in Chicago, New York, and London. He has been recognized by the Council on Global Affairs as an emerging leader and by Crain’s 40 Under 40. He holds a BS and MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
