Bukola Shaba

Bukola Shaba is the Communications Manager for Green RISE Africa, where she leads the strategic communications behind Acumen’s five-year program, delivered in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, to strengthen Africa’s green economy and expand dignified work for women and young people across the continent.

A communications and policy professional with over a decade of experience in advocacy, political engagement, and development communications, Bukola is drawn to what sits at the heart of Green RISE Africa: the belief that empowering a single entrepreneur sets off a ripple effect, fueling not only their own growth, but the growth of the community around them. Her work centers on translating the program’s climate and enterprise impact into clear, compelling stories that move partners, funders, and the entrepreneurs at the center of it all.

Bukola is a skilled trainer and facilitator who has designed workshops for government officials, civil society, women leaders, journalists, and youth advocates across Nigeria, and has built communications toolkits and playbooks for organizations including the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), Solina Centre for International Development and Research (SCIDaR), and Save the Children Nigeria. She previously led a 10-person communications team at Save the Children Nigeria, mentoring staff to sharpen their storytelling and deepen their advocacy impact. Her participatory approach keeps her work practical, context-driven, and rooted in the dignity and voices of the people she serves.
Bukola holds an M.A. in International Studies (Communications and Development) from Ohio University.
