Camila Vega

Camila is an ocean innovation specialist and sustainability leader dedicated to scaling marine conservation solutions at the intersection of technology, investment, and global partnership. Based in San Francisco, she brings a proven track record of building ecosystems that drive measurable environmental impact across five continents.

Most recently, Camila served as Solutions Portfolio Manager at the Sustainable Ocean Alliance, where she oversaw a portfolio of 64 ocean innovation startups and facilitated more than $500 million in investment capital to advance conservation-focused ventures. Prior to this, she built and launched SOA’s Global Mentorship Program, growing the organization’s expert network to over 250 mentors spanning 30+ industries across 31 countries.

Camila’s work extends beyond ocean conservation. She is a board member and founding team leader at Nucleos, Inc., where she helped secure $3.5 million in funding and $1.2 million in NSF SBIR grants. She co-founded PortableCloud, a social enterprise that delivered e-learning to over 2,500 students in remote communities across Africa and South Asia, and has mentored more than 300 entrepreneurs from underserved communities through Centro Community Partners.
She holds an M.B.A. in Sustainable Solutions from Presidio Graduate School (expected 2026), a B.A. in Cognitive Science from UC Merced, and is a Climatebase Climate Solutions Fellow. She is fluent in both English and Spanish.
