Cara Doble

Cara has been with Acumen team since June 2022, where as Associate Director of Grant Implementation, she bridges between Development & Partnerships and other Acumen teams and offices, to collaborate on grant management processes, develop best practices for grant delivery and uphold the overall integrity of program implementation at Acumen.

For 13 years prior to joining Acumen, Cara was the Assistant Director for the Fulbright U.S. Student and Scholar Programs, to and from, the South & Central Asia and the Middle East & North Africa regions at the Institute of International Education (IIE), where she worked collaboratively with U.S. Department of State sponsors, U.S. Embassy and Fulbright Commission staff and fellow IIE team members to support over 1,200 Fulbright grantees per year. Before IIE, Cara worked as a graphic designer with the Affiliate Marketing department at Discovery Communications, and even earlier in her career, she administered the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals Program (CBYX), a bi-nationally government funded exchange program between the U.S. and Germany.

Cara has a BA in German, a Concentration in Peace & Conflict Studies and a minor in Art from Guilford College and an MA in German from Middlebury College, in conjunction with the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz.
