Carsten Stendevad is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Acumen.

Carsten has held numerous leadership positions among leading global financial and non-profit institutions. He was a Partner at Bridgewater Associates, where he served as Co-Chief Investment Officer for Sustainable Investing. He previously served as CEO of ATP, Denmark’s national pension fund, and Managing Director in Citi’s Investment Banking division. He also worked for McKinsey & Co.

Carsten is currently Chair of the Board of the Danish Refugee Council and member of the board of directors of Vertical Aerospace. He is an Advisor Emeritus to GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, having served as board advisor from 2018 to 2025. He previously served on the boards of Novo Holdings and UNICEF Denmark, and was also a Board Advisor to GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund. He was a member of the steering committee for the Blended Finance Taskforce to mobilize capital toward the SDGs, and a founding member of the Focusing Capital on the Long-Term coalition.

He holds a degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen and a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. He was awarded the Order of Dannebrog in 2016.
