Carsten Stendevad

Carsten Stendevad is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Acumen.
Carsten has held numerous leadership positions among leading global financial and non-profit institutions. He was a Partner at Bridgewater Associates, where he served as Co-Chief Investment Officer for Sustainable Investing. He previously served as CEO of ATP, Denmark’s national pension fund, and Managing Director in Citi’s Investment Banking division. He also worked for McKinsey & Co.
He is currently Chair of the Board of the Danish Refugee Council and a Board Advisor to GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund. He is a founding member of the Focusing Capital on the Long-Term coalition and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Carsten has previously served on the boards of Novo Holdings and UNICEF Denmark, and was a member of the steering committee for the Blended Finance Taskforce to mobilize capital toward the SDGs.
He holds a degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen and a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School. He was awarded the Order of Dannebrog in 2016.
