Charles Hare

Charles joined Acumen in January 2025 as Impact Lead for Acumen’s energy initiative, Hardest-to-Reach (“H2R”), which aims to bring access to energy to people in Africa who live in the hardest-to-reach places. Before Acumen, Charles was part of the Development Impact team at British International Investment, the UK’s Development Finance Institution, where he worked with investment teams on impactful transactions in Africa and South-Asia, totalling over $2bn. Charles’ career experience includes time at Standard Chartered Bank, Mastercard, Business Fights Poverty, and Talmar Sustainable Investments. Charles holds an MBA (GIBS, South Africa) and an MSc in Poverty Reduction (SOAS, UK).
