Heartie Look-Dougherty

Heartie leads philanthropic programming and partnerships for Acumen, leveraging her knowledge from over 15 years working at the nexus of social and environmental impact via stakeholder engagement, in-field evaluation, fundraising, and marketing communications.

Previously she’s worked for organizations including the Central Park Conservancy, Riverkeeper, NationSwell, SxSW, and Conservation International, and her field work has brought her to Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Argentina where she has either led the development of or evaluated the community and environmental impacts of renewable energy, water, and sanitation projects.

Heartie holds a MA in International Affairs and Development from The New School and a BA in Sociology and Environmental Studies from Pitzer College.
