Julian Ortiz

Julian joined Acumen as a Senior Finance Associate in September 2017. Julian was promoted to Portfolio Finance manager in 2021, and is currently responsible for managing our investment program’s finance and operational framework. Prior to joining Acumen, Julian was a member of the Not-For-Profit Services team at PKF O’Connor Davies as a Senior Auditor. His work focused on performing internal control evaluations, financial statement audits and reviews, together with other attestation engagements, for organizations of all sizes throughout NYC and NJ. His role prior was that of Internal Auditor at C.R. Bard, Inc., a global medical device manufacturer, where he worked closely with teams in Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Latin America.

Julian is a native Spanish speaker who enjoys cultural exchange through frequent travel, adventurous dining, and varied musical tastes. Julian holds a B.S. in Accounting from Rutgers University – Newark, where he was the President of the Rutgers Newark Book Club.
