Light Ohwoka

Light Ohwoka currently serves as an Associate at Acumen, where she supports the operations, coordination and delivery of the Green RISE Africa Accelerator Program, designed to prepare climate-smart enterprises across East & West Africa for growth and investment readiness, with the goal of creating & improving green jobs for women & youth.

With over five years of experience designing & implementing entrepreneurship & enterprise development programs, Light has delivered high-impact initiatives that have supported business growth, strengthened investment readiness and equip founders with the resources to build sustainable businesses across emerging markets in Africa.

Before joining Acumen, Light worked with 54Collective where she coordinated the Business Support Accelerator program in West Africa funded by Mastercard Foundation, empowering 144 SMEs, both early & growth stages, to become profitable, sustainable and drive job creation. She’s also worked with DelYork Group as a Programs manager for its vocational & Youth employability program. Earlier in her career, she served as a Programs Manager & Head of The Foundry at The Nest Innovation Technology Park, where she designed & delivered venture support & Youth employability programs for Startups, SMEs, women entrepreneurs, Creatives, and students.

Throughout her career, Light has supported more than 4,000 entrepreneurs/SMEs including women & youth, through providing technical assistance and facilitating access to structured growth support and ecosystem partnerships across public & private sectors.

Light holds a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from Delta State University and is a Venture Capital Fellow with CatalyzU. She is passionate about impact & supporting inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems helping Founders build sustainable ventures.
