Megan has more than 20 years of leadership and advisory experience across the nonprofit, U.S. government, United Nations, and philanthropic sectors. Most recently, she worked at the Gates Foundation, where she led engagement with the United Nations Secretariat and Canada.
Appointed as a White House Fellow during the Obama administration, she served at the United States Mission to the United Nations, advising on issues ranging from the Ebola response and the negotiations surrounding the Sustainable Development Goals to migration in Europe and international security. She also held roles at the United Nations Secretariat spanning peace operations, political affairs, and human rights.
Megan brings extensive experience in partnerships, policy, and program management, particularly in Sudan and South Sudan, where she led the United Nations Development Programme’s Democracy and Participation portfolio, advised USAID on democracy and governance programming during South Sudan’s secession, and served as executive director of The Carter Center.
She holds a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a B.A. in political science from Amherst College. Megan serves on the board of Sunday Funds, is a Young Leader of the French-American Foundation, and a fellow of the United States-Japan Leadership Program.
