Mercedes manages strategic partnerships that enhance Acumen’s work in energy access. In this role, she is responsible for engaging with foundations, corporations, governments, and investors that support Acumen’s energy initiatives, cultivating new partnerships and amplifying its thought leadership in the energy access and climate space.

Before joining Acumen in 2020, Mercedes worked for four years in Argentina’s largest industrial corporation, the Techint Group, as an Institutional Relations Coordinator. There she led public affairs, sustainability actions, and communications and worked as a link between the Techint Group and its external stakeholders. She also has experience working on advocacy with UNICEF’s country office in Romania and with Columbia University’s Earth Institute on research projects on sustainable development and climate change. She is passionate about pursuing partnerships to explore innovative solutions at the intersection of climate change and poverty reduction.

Mercedes holds a Master of Public Administration in Development Practice degree from Columbia University (Fulbright Scholar) and a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Universidad de San Andrés.
