Paraag Sabhlok

Paraag Sabhlok leads new investments and the existing portfolio at Acumen India, across climate, agriculture and AI for good. He works with Acumen’s global team to shape the investment thesis for problem areas relevant to India. He also works with Acumen’s limited partners and philanthropic funders on the capital behind the India platform and serves on the boards of multiple portfolio companies.

Paraag has been with Acumen since 2018, backing early and growth-stage companies in agriculture, renewable energy, waste and the circular economy. He oversees instrument selection and deal structuring across the portfolio, and shapes how Acumen approaches valuation and risk in markets where scale takes time to build. He partners with founders on unit economics, capital efficiency and follow-on strategy, and has worked alongside them through subsequent institutional rounds, restructurings and exits.

He was previously with HSBC, where he led strategic initiatives for the investment bank spanning business restructuring, portfolio optimization and EMEA growth strategy, and began his career advising metals and mining clients on M&A. He trained as a biomedical engineer and moved into finance after his MBA.
