Scolar Mburu joined Acumen East Africa in November 2024 as an Investment Analyst, where she plays a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and advancing high-impact investment opportunities across the region. She is actively involved in deal sourcing, conducting commercial and financial due diligence, preparing investment memos, and guiding opportunities through Acumen’s investment pipeline—from initial screening to final recommendation.

Her work spans Acumen’s key thematic areas: Agriculture, Sustainable Energy, and Education, with a strong emphasis on supporting early-stage, post-revenue businesses that align with Acumen’s impact mission.

Prior to joining Acumen, Scolar held various roles in investment and financial management at Cellulant Corporation and Medbook Limited, where she honed her expertise in financial analysis, performance tracking, and strategic planning. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Strathmore University, she brings a data-driven, analytical approach to investing—particularly in financial modelling and valuation, where she integrates technical acumen with a deep understanding of business fundamentals.
