Daniel Attah

Daniel is a finance professional with about 4 years of experience working in mergers and acquisitions, project finance, trade finance, capital markets, and deal advisory covering multiple sectors in Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Petroleum Chemistry from the American University of Nigeria and is a CFA Level III candidate.

He joins the Acumen West Africa team as an Investment Associate from Lighthouse Capital Limited where he was responsible for research and analysis for investment banking transactions, business valuation exercises, information memoranda and investor presentations preparations, building comprehensive financial models, and supporting deal structuring and transaction management. Daniel’s contribution extends to supporting fundraising, serving as a facility agent, and actively participating in transactions that span the energy, telecommunications, and agriculture sectors. Prior to Lighthouse Capital, he worked at the Civic Foundation for Innovation as a research analyst focusing on MSME access initiatives and innovative GovTech solutions. In this role, he helped with the conceptualization and implementation of Civic X, an initiative for teaching children in remote communities basic literacy and digital skills through mobile learning hubs (trucks). His experience also includes a stint at the Department of Petroleum Resources.

Daniel’s background and accomplishments position him as an ideal addition to our team, aligning seamlessly with our commitment to strategic, philanthropic capital deployment for impactful change in Africa’s investment landscape. He looks forward to leveraging his skills and experience to support the team’s investment strategy, goals, and ambitions while elevating the organization’s portfolio management and operations capabilities.

Outside of work, he engages in volunteering activities and enjoys watching Soccer, F1, and UFC.
