The challenge
Issues in the Latin America educational system include poor ratings in school climate that affect and educational quality, teachers who burnout, a lack of training, and high rates of violence and aggression. Furthermore, many youth struggle with anxiety, depression, finishing school, drug use, and finding work.
The innovation
Coschool developed a pedagogical model and platform, Edumoción, for school leaders, educators, and students. The program focuses on social and emotional learning as key component of the educational system, providing educators with knowledge of theory and practical strategies to promote safe learning spaces. It also empowers youth, who see themselves as change agents in their lives and their communities.
The impact
Coschool has impacted close to 20,000 youth and 7,000 teachers in Colombia.
