Hans Taparia

Hans Taparia has spent most of his career as an entrepreneur and is now a Clinical Associate Professor at the New York University Stern School of Business, where he focuses on topics at the intersection of business and society and co-leads the university’s program on social entrepreneurship. Hans is also a co-founder of Desert Bloom, an investment vehicle that supports dynamic food companies working at the intersection of health, sustainability and access. Prior to that, he co-founded and led one of America’s leading health food brands, Tasty Bite, which was then sold to Mars, Inc. He was also a co-founder of a US and India-based management consulting firm and incubator, through which he co-founded Bangalore-based Tejas Networks which is publicly traded and is one of the world’s leading telecommunications equipment companies.

Hans has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, writes regularly for publications including The New York Times and Stanford Social Innovation Review and serves on boards of several social enterprises in the food space.
