Ivy Wanjeri

Ivy Wanjeri is the Lead at Acumen Academy East Africa, where she manages the Fellows Program across the region, supports the growth and development of the East Africa Foundry, and develops strategic partnerships to enhance the Academy’s initiatives. With over eight years of experience, she has a proven track record in Youth and Economic Empowerment, Educational Initiatives, Social Inclusion, and Gender Equality.


Before joining Acumen, Wanjeri served as the Senior Experiments Manager at Educate! She piloted the initial program and executed eight iterations of an economic strengthening initiative for young women from rural communities. Her efforts resulted in significant livelihood improvements, with 60% of participants experiencing a threefold increase in income. Wanjeri also refined product offerings for the target market and built a robust stakeholder network to support Educate!’s work in rural areas.


As a Program Officer, Wanjeri led a National Youth Enterprise Program in Kenya, impacting over 10,000 young people. She successfully developed relationships with nearly 100 funders, securing approximately $2 million annually to support the program’s initiatives.
Wanjeri’s dedication to creating impactful programs and building strong partnerships has made her a pivotal leader in advancing social and economic empowerment in East Africa.
