Laura Ruiz Diaz

Laura is Associate Director for Acumen. She oversees our work in the region all our Programs, our local storytelling, our community work and our Innovation team. Before this role and still within Acumen she led since 2018 the launch of the Colombia Fellows Program and delivered the Program for its first four cohorts of Fellows. Prior to joining Acumen, she worked as Senior Consultant with Agora Partnerships, providing entrepreneurs in Latin America with accompaniment and expertise to take their businesses to the next level. As a part of Acumen’s 2016 cohort of Global Fellows, Laura supported Amal Academy, an education venture in Pakistan launched by Acumen Fellow Benje Williams. At Amal she ran operations and supported their efforts to expand and grow. Laura started her career in Avianca, optimizing and redefining their revenue strategy, pricing models and operationalizing growth plans. She holds a BA in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and an MA in Strategic Project Management from Heriot-Watt University, Politecnico di Milano and Umeå Universitet.
