As the Associate adapting the Fellows Program for rural and community-based leaders, Mónica coordinates the launch, operations, and delivery of the Program.
Mónica holds a BA in Languages and Sociocultural Studies from Universidad de los Andes. Her inspiration for social causes started when she was an English teacher in Bogotá for 2 years as part of Teach for Colombia’s Leadership program. She then built her career as a Teacher Trainer for 6 years by leading programs about pedagogy, collective leadership, social justice, and peacebuilding. With over 6 years of experience in curriculum design and adult development, Mónica brings a focused expertise in social justice to her work. Her professional interests include adult training, improving the educational system, soft skills development, diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as leadership development. Monica excels in consolidating rigorous training and decision-making processes based on data and evidence.
In her spare time, she loves traveling to new places, trying new food, reading, and sharing time with her loved ones.
